Instead of panels, the program for Saturday afternoon will feature two special events that require advance registration, be sure to select your option on this form.
(1) Toxic Tour: Limited to 50 participants- FULL, You will be put on our waiting list
As a conference theme capstone, we will have a “toxic tour” by bus of the East End of Houston, a working-class and ethnically diverse area which is the heart of the city’s Hispanic/Latinx community and which is adjacent to the city’s extensive system of oil refineries and chemical plants. The tour will be conducted by T.E.J.A.S., a grassroots environmental justice organization located in the East End that is dedicated to educating people about pollution and empowering them to fight for a healthy environment.
(2) Writing Session:
ClassCrits will host an informal writing retreat that will give attendees time to write and think about a project, interspersed with breaks for discussion and camaraderie.
The general registration fee is $275.00 and $250 for Full ClassCrtis Members. The fee will include meals and refreshments. We encourage you to join ClassCrits as a Full Member and you will receive a discounted registration rate of $250. Full voting membership dues are $25 for 2022. Lodging: The Conference has arranged a room block at the Hilton Houston Medical Center Hotel, 6633 Travis Street, Houston, TX 77030. Attendees must book directly with the hotel . The Conference will also provide a bus to transport participants between this hotel and the Conference site. The Hilton Houston Medical Center Hotel is 2 miles from Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
